Google Numbered Results
Finally someone has updated the Google Numbered Results Firefox plugin.
This hasn’t been updated in quite some time, one of Google’s updates made the last version of the plugin not work. You’ll have to install Grease Monkey first and then install the plugin.
This plugin is great for all those who drive themselves nuts by checking rank every 5 minutes!!
Download and install Grease Monkey and then download the Google Numbered Results plugin, or simply click the install button on the page.

Google Old School SEO
It seems as of the last big Google Algorithm change, (Caffeine), that Google has gone back to some of the SEO basics…one in particular that was thought to be dead and buried was Keyword Density. I still don’t think it has an extreme amount of importance, but enough that our old friend Keyword Density should be paid attention to.
I first came about this theory, because that’s all this is, is a theory, when the last change started moving things around and I noticed that some of the rank I achieved had slipped…normally I don’t have knee jerk reactions, and I didn’t in this case either, but when the rank didn’t return to the spot that it was in previous to the slip, I started thinking something was up.
(Note to all you knee jerkers: When your rank slips, it’s usually due to a re-indexing or an algorithm change, don’t panic because it normally returns to the spot it was in or higher(hopefully) when the dust has settled)
Sometimes your rank will completely disappear, but this isn’t a cause for alarm. Give it a few days to a week and if it doesn’t return to the spot it was in before or better, then you can start to analyze the problem.
I digress…I noticed when the rank I achieved on a site I was working on slipped to page 2 or 3 and when it didn’t return, I researched the the top 5 sites for the keyword I was targeting…not only did I research that vertical, but others as well to make sure I was on to something. Every industry I looked at all had similar results…I applied it to the site I was working on and when it got re-indexed it was back on page one.
I then applied it to other sites and the same thing happened…please don’t think this is the Holy SEO Grail…it’s not…it’s simply one element that when applied properly falls into line with all the other elements that should already be done properly. What are those elements you ask? That’s a post for another time.
The moral of this story is, DON’T FORGET THE SEO BASICS, they haven’t changed in the 12 plus years that I’ve been doing SEO…they may get altered slightly, but the core never really changes. Don’t be afraid to experiment on your sites…don’t be stupid about it though…if you have an idea, try it out on a sub-page or a page that isn’t ranking well already and see what happens.
Please, please remember to keep in mind, that SEO IS NOT A MAGIC PILL and it doesn’t happen over night…I have lots more to say about that topic and will…next post will fall under the SEO con category.

Dan League of Attribution Marketing Exposed By OneArmedSEO
This first was posted on another blog, Dan League Exposed, and started getting found by all the other people Dan League has ripped off. He actually had to change the name of his company from Market Infusion to Attribution Marketing, because the original post was making him lose business. People he was trying to con into thinking he knew SEO or anything about online marketing saw the post when they searched his name.
Anyway, here is the original post (Be sure to go to the original blog post to read the comments):
MarketInfusion.com Sucks! Dan League of Market Infusion (now called Attribution Marketing he had to change the name because of all the people he’s screwed over!) hired me to do SEO for a client of theirs. My SEO services were obtained to do the SEO basics because Market Infusion knows nothing about SEO and has nobody in-house to do the job…much like many “SEO Experts” and other small agencies, he realized that more and more people were asking him about SEO…so he saw dollar signs and then found me online.
An update to this whole story can be read here: Dan League Attribution Marketing Unscrupulous Business Tactics
I sent him a contract, he signed it and I started the job. These were the Payment Terms as stated in the contract:
“Initial payment of $X is due upon execution of Agreement and remainder of fee, $X, due upon delivery of finished product for the research, analysis and development of the Search Engine Optimization of Title Tags, Meta Description Tags and Meta Keywords Tags”.
I finished the job a day before it was do and sent him an Excel sheet with the SEO for him to pass on to the client for implementation…at that point I reminded him that the final payment was due now…that was on a Friday…I expected to receive final payment within the next 10 business days…when I didn’t receive it, I sent him an email, (I have every single email that has gone back and forth between the two of us since day 1), asking why I hadn’t received it…he started making all kinds of excuses like, “The person that needs to sign the check is out of town and has limited access to the internet and email, that’s why we usually pay with Paypal because you’ll get it faster.”
First of all…I don’t care where on the planet you are, there are very few spots on Earth where a person doesn’t have access to the internet or email…especially someone who is in charge of an online marketing company…maybe if you’re in the North Pole or in the Amazon you might have trouble…I was just in Belize and the place I was staying was in the jungle, but I was still able to use their internet…they had internet access in the jungle!!!
So I then setup a Paypal account and informed Dan that he could just sends the money there, but still nothing…now he tells me that the person in charge was on that plane that crashed in Buffalo earlier in the year…I gave my condolences and gave him a little more time before I asked for payment…now 4 months later he doesn’t respond to emails anymore…so now who’s to say that he wasn’t lying about the plane crash…he probably was…how low!
So now I’m taking this as him saying: “Fuck you, I’m a scumbag and I’m not going to pay you.” A line from Animal House comes to mind, where Otter says to Flounder after they took their road trip in Flounder’s brother’s car: “Hey, ya fucked up, ya trusted us!”
Note to self: Always get the full amount up front!
The moral of the story: If you are ever contacted by Dan League of Market Infusion to do work or if you have a company and need any type of online marketing…DO NOT USE MARKET INFUSION…they are dishonest, they still owe me a large chunk of money and they really know nothing about online marketing, which is why he hires contractors to do everything.
If you want an honest and extremely knowledgeable SEO Expert, OneArmedSEO is for you.
It blows me away that people like Dan League are able to get through the day and feel good about themselves…but they always get it in the end.
Small claims court, here we come…what a pain in the ass!!! If you’re a lawyer and happen to be reading this, if you want to swap services so I can nail Market Infusion’s ass to the wall…send a message…they’ve cost me a lot of time and money already. I intend on being compensated for all of it…If you know Dan, poor you, try to let him know that it would be much easier to pay the money he owes rather than have it go to court which will cost them much more and further drag the names Market Infusion and Dan League through the mud!
I wonder how many other people he’s screwed over?
Oh, I just looked at one of the hotels I did the work for and they’re ranking pretty well quite a few of their keywords now.
Here’s an update 6-17-09
I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, if you’ve also been burnt by Dan League of Market Infusion, I strongly suggest you register a complaint with BBB.org.
Here’s his info with BBB at the end…I had his home address posted here too, but as much as I dislike the guy, I wouldn’t want some crackpot to go there and hurt him!

I filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, but unfortunately they only handle Business to Consumer, so if you’ve had to deal with Dan League on a consumer level and he’s ripped you off (I’m sure he has), I strongly urge you to file a complaint to the BBB.

Update: 7-20-09
The information about this guy just keeps piling up! It’s unbelievable how many people he’s ripped off and the excuses he makes are unconscionable! The more I find out, the more disgusted I become…stay tuned for Market Infusion Sucks Part Deux ~ A Compilation of Lies and Deceit!
Update: 11-6-09
So I looked up attributionmarketing.com in whois and of course it’s a private registration, just like marketinfusion.com. The funny thing is attributionmarketing.com was created in March 2009! So Dan League has either been working for an online marketing company since 2006 that has had no website or he’s lying…which do you think it is??
Attributionmarketing.com like MarketInfusion.com is also a splash page with coming soon on it…that’s because there is no Attribution Marketing.
Dan League of Market Infusion and now Attribution Marketing has had to change his online marketing scam name because all the people he’s ripped off are now finding this post and telling how Dan League of Market Infusion and Attribution Marketing has ripped them off!
Yeah, I know the wording seems redundant, but it serves a purpose!!
UPDATE: January 1, 2010
I just saw this question posted by the Dan League of Market Infusion, now Attribution Marketing:
http://www.justanswer.com/questions/2×3k5-i-am-seeking-a-california-attorney-that-is-familiar-with-defamation
Apparently the bonehead has contacted an online law service to see what he can do to have this post removed so he can continue to rip people off. Of course when you read it, you’ll see that he’s lied to them too…what else is new…anyway, i hope if you work for that law firm and you’re reading this, you’ll see that Dan League of Market Infusion, now Attribution Marketing is a habitual liar, a criminal, and a sociopath and that you will get your money upfront if you do work for him!!
p.s. Dan, you’re a douche!
